Product Design Team Manager

Job Description:
As the Product Design Team Manager at Shopee, you will be responsible for managing a team of product designers to create intuitive and visually appealing user experiences for our platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and user needs, and leverage various product design methodologies and techniques to ideate, validate, and launch products that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities:
– Manage and mentor a team of product designers to develop and implement design strategies that align with business objectives and user needs
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, data analysts, and business teams to understand business requirements and develop innovative design solutions
– Apply various product design methodologies and techniques such as design thinking, rapid prototyping, A/B testing, and user research to ideate, validate, and launch products that meet customer needs
– Ensure consistency and quality across all products and platforms by developing and proposing design systems, guidelines, and processes with local and regional team
– Stay up-to-date with emerging design trends, tools, and technologies, and share insights with the team to improve design processes and workflows.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Design or a related field
– 5 years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
– Proficiency in research and design tools such as Maze, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar
– Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, including design thinking, human-centered design, and agile development
– Experience with product design methodologies and techniques, including user research, rapid prototyping, design sprint and usability studies
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present design solutions and rationale to stakeholders at all levels.
